Hometown Hero of the Week
Hometown Hero of the Week: Adam Carrier, December 3rd, 2025
Our QDR Hometown Hero of the week is Adam Carrier, firefighter and Fire Academy Instructor for Wake County.
Adam Carrier was nominated by his students at the Wake County Fire Academy, where is the full time Academy Coordinator for Wake County Fire. He has dedicated his time to training the next generation of firefighters. He dedicates his free time to teaching classes at night and on weekends for the volunteer firefighters that are unable to attend the daytime academy, where he jokes that they are his academy fire class 16.5. Captain Carrier served as a firefighter in Iraq from 2007-2008.
Captain Carrier has served with the Fayetteville Fire Department, the Angier-Black River Fire Department, and—most recently—the Fairview Fire Department. His relentless dedication, leadership, and patience have pushed everyone he has taught to be the best firemen they can be.
Thank you, Adam, for your service! As a token of our appreciation, we’re sending you a $50 gift card to Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q to thank you for all you do.
