Fursday: Meet Marty from APS of Durham!
Meet lil’ Moe. Handsome, sweet, goofy, and great with other dogs. Don’t let his worried face fool you, once he’s comfortable with his friends, his frown turns upside down! Chin scratches and head pats are his jam, and he’ll take those with a side of hot dogs please. Moe has become a lot braver than when he first arrived to APS, courageous and gentle, we know he’s looking for a soft place to land. Moe is a 2 year old cocker spaniel mix who is weighing in at a whopping 24.4 pounds. He is currently heartworm positive, but at no cost to you, APS is able to provide treatment through a foster to adopt period. After treatment is over, he’s all yours! Moe would love to curl up in your lap on this sunny day, come say hi!
Kids: 10+, timid, independent, takes time to warm up
Dogs: plays well with other dogs, worried at first but once comfortable, likes to play!
APS is currently partnering with Bissell Pet Foundation to Empty the Shelters! May 1-15, all dog adoption fees are only $50!

Fursday: Meet Monsoon from Saving Grace!
Let the LOVE rain down… and we mean pour down… soaking wet with cuteness and sweetness… you’ll leave your umbrella at home every time for sure if it means you get to hang with Monsoon! Monsoon is this great retriever mix who is an adult, weighing about 60 lbs full grown. This guy is the kind of goofballs and the social-est of butterflies around. Despite his size, Monsoon has the energy and attitude of a pup who loves other dogs, running and romping and lapping up the loves, pets and attentions of people. Monsoon is a good boy who is ready to learn anything you have to teach him, has a great appetite for treats of both the food and affection kind and could both join a family with other dogs or go it alone as a single dude. He is great in his crate and learned the routine with ease and he just seems to “fit wherever he goes. Monsoon is ready to meet you… come soon and see what we’re talking about!
*Weekend Host feedback: “Completely potty trained, waits at the back door to signal needing to go out. No accidents in the home over the weekend”. “He rides well in the car, settles down soon after driving off”. “Slept perfectly in his crate overnight”.
**Volunteer Dog Walk feedback: “Monsoon is handsome and super energetic. He was very excited for our walk! On our hike he had a signature move of pausing, backpedaling, and springing into the air like a grasshopper before starting our next stretch of the walk! He really wants to play with other dogs, but will need another dog that’s okay with his play style”.
