(AP) — Ven-Allen Lubin collected his first double-double as a Tar Heel and Ian Jackson hit five of North Carolina’s season-high 15 3-pointers while scoring 19 points in a 91-59 victory over Virginia Tech on Tuesday night. The Tar Heels (20-11, 13-6 ACC) extended their season-high win streak to six as they prepare to end the regular season at home against No. 2 Duke on Saturday. The Atlantic Coast Conference, Clemson and Florida State have approved a settlement that would end their legal fights. The deal would change the league’s revenue-distribution model to factor in viewership ratings in payments to schools. That could benefit the league’s top brands and marquee programs. It also revises and clarifies long-term costs for a school to leave the conference. Each party approved the settlement Tuesday. Commissioner Jim Phillips said in a statement that the league is “united in an 18-member conference” for the future. A person familiar with the situation says the Atlantic Coast Conference, Clemson and Florida State have reached a proposed settlement that would end their legal fight and change the league’s revenue-distribution model. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Monday because neither the league nor the schools have publicly addressed their settlement. The proposed agreement requires approval from the league and the schools. Trustees at the two schools have scheduled meetings for Tuesday. Lubin was 9-of-10 from the floor and Withers collected his third double-double this season. Drake Powell added 16 points, RJ Davis 13, Ian Jackson 11 and Seth Trimble 10 for the Tar Heels (19-11, 12-6 ACC), who shot 59%, made 10 of 18 3-pointers and outrebounded the Hurricanes 38-26. Drake Powell made a layup that gave the Tar Heels the lead for good just over four minutes into the game and spark a 10-0 run that made it 16-6 about three minutes later.
