Hometown Hero of the Week: Tonya Pounds, September 3rd, 2025
Our QDR Hometown Hero of the week is Tonya Pounds, Nurse Practitioner at Magnolia Healthcare and Aesthetics!
Tonya’s nominator shared, “Before I met Tonya, she accomplished so many things within her career. During COVID she went to people’s homes to provide services that were not allowed in person. When she opened her medical practice in Clayton, she gave services for free to people while she worked with their insurance companies until she was an approved vendor. She helps people in need that get it turned away from other providers. She helps the military veterans who have muscular deformities and atrophy due to combat related injuries to help them have a more aesthetic use for their arms and hands. She is an amazing person with a heart bigger than the world and truly has improved her community and Johnston County — where she was born and raised and continues to give back daily.
I know I have a biased opinion, but she truly is a hometown hero!”
