Our QDR Hometown Hero of the Week is Peter Howell. 

Peter was nominated by his daughter Alanah who says, “Peter is my dad and does everything he can to provide for the family. He has been in the Durham Sheriff’s Department for the past 25 years and is now a Lieutenant and works at the courthouse. Additionally, Peter does driver’s instructor’s training for the new recruits, sacrificing his time to ensure the cadets are properly taught. As all families do, we have faced many challenges along the years. Every time something comes up, my dad steps up and works extra hours to provide. For the past three years, my dad has worked 3-4 nights a week at the jail (after his regular Monday-Friday shifts) to bring in extra money to save/pay for my college tuition. Peter is a man who loves his family and loves serving his home town.”
