Hometown Hero of the Week: Mary Elizabeth Johnson, April 24th, 2024

Hometown Hero of the Week: Mary Elizabeth Johnson, April 24th, 2024

Our QDR Hometown Hero of the Week is Mary Elizabeth Johnson, a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at UNC Johnston Health Smithfield.

Mary was nominated by Victoria Parrish who says, “Mary has been a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at UNC Johnston Health Smithfield for 4 years. She entered her passion in the height of the COVID pandemic and has excelled in every area of emergency nursing since. Originally from Sampson County, Mary moved to Johnston County after she soon realized how much she loved the area and the community she is able to serve. Mary has been awarded the Stroke Elite Awards TWICE for her expertise and quick action when treating patients. She is passionate, driven, compassionate, empathetic and loyal to both her profession and her community. Mary is so deserving of being recognized as a Hometown Hero because she has exhibited heroism during her entire nursing career.”

Thank you, Mary Elizabeth, for your service! As a token of our appreciation, we’re sending you a $50 gift card to Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q to thank you for all you do.
