Our QDR Hometown Hero of the week is Keith Powell, Chief of Police for the Smithfield Police Department! 

Keith was nominated by his Daughter Caitlyn who says, “Keith Powell has worked for Smithfield Police Department for the past 30 years working his way up to Chief of Police. Keith has given his all to the town of Smithfield and is always there when someone needs him. He is dedicated to his work and can always be counted on for anything. He is the best dad to my brother and I, and the BEST Pop-Pop to my little boy! We can’t wait for him to be home more and to be able to spend more time with us. Our family couldn’t be prouder of Keith Powell for all of the hard work and determination that he shows every day.” 94.7 QDR is happy to announce that after 30 years with The Smithfield Police Department, Keith is officially retired, on behalf of the whole Q Crew we want to wish Keith a happy retirement!
