Our QDR Hometown Hero of the Week is Elena Alexander, a paramedic for Harnett County.

Elena works nonstop as a paramedic for Harnett County. It’s hard working 24 or even 36 hour shifts especially with all the calls she has to go to as well as doing Mutual Aid calls for surrounding counties if they need assistance. Elena always puts her patients’ needs first. She makes sure they know exactly what she is doing, she explains to the patient what’s going on with them, and she explains the next course of treatment or which hospital they need to go to. It also doesn’t help to have me as a fiancé who is also a dispatcher for Harnett Co telling her where to go and then coming home to each other. When not working she puts our family first, especially our puppies Roman and Daisy. Elena works tirelessly day in and day out to be better today than she was yesterday and to be better tomorrow than she was today.
