Durham Rescue Mission and Rich in Grace Ministries to Aid in COVID-19 Relief

Durham Rescue Mission and Rich in Grace Ministries to Aid in COVID-19 Relief

March 6, 2021 12:00 pm - March 6, 2021 2:00 pm

Where: Durham Rescue Mission, 1201 E Main St, Durham, NC 27701

Saturday, March 6, 2021, at noon, the Durham Rescue Mission will be distributing 1,100 Farmers to Families Food Boxes via a drive-thru to help needy families who are still struggling with finances due to the COVID pandemic.

The Rescue Mission has partnered with Rich in Grace Ministries, a local non-profit organization that helps those struggling physically and unable to meet their most basic needs, to distribute these care packages.

These food boxes are put together by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) as part of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (April 17, 2020). The USDA is partnering with national, regional, and local distributors to purchase $6 billion in fresh produce, dairy, and meat products from American producers of all sizes. Each food box will contain a choice of meat, hot dogs, a gallon of milk, two 1qt tubs of sour cream, 1lb block of cheddar cheese, 3lb bag of oranges, 5lb bag of potatoes, 2lb bag of carrots, & onions.

The Rescue Mission would like to thank Rich in Grace Ministries and USDA for helping us provide for the needy in the Triangle. Due to COVID-19 regulations, this will be a drive-thru event only. No walk-ups are allowed. Boxes will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis and one per family while supplies last.
