Our QDR Hometown Hero of the week is Timmy Godwin, Fire Chief for the West Johnston Fire Department! 

Timmy was nominated by his Daughter Madison Barnes who says, “My dad is a wonderful firefighter, friend, dad, and husband. He has served 25 plus years with West Johnston Fire department, over 15 of those he has served as the chief. The past six months have been a little bumpy with some medical issues, but he has powered through for his family and fire department. He has two daughters and one son, who is also a junior fire fighter alongside him. He works hard for his community, and everyone will tell you he’s nothing but a phone call away. He’s been happily married for 16 years, and when you see him, you see her that’s for sure! I am beyond proud to call him my dad and will forever be thankful for such a strong role model in our community. Love you!”
