Funnel Cakes Recipe by Tina from Allrecipes.

Cooking time: 10 minutes

Servings: 16 servings

Ingredients

  • 3 ⅔ cups all-purpose flour, divided
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1-quart vegetable oil for frying, or as needed
  • 2 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar, or as needed

Directions

  1. Mix ½ of the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl; set aside.
  2. Beat together milk, eggs, and sugar in a bowl. Add the flour mixture and combine until smooth. Add the remaining flour until the batter becomes runny and thin enough to flow through a funnel. 
  3. Heat 1 inch of oil in an 8-inch skillet at 375°F.
  4. Stop the hole of the funnel with your finger and fill it with ½ cup of batter. Release the batter over the hot oil, making circular motions.
  5. Fry until the bottom is golden brown; approximately 1 to 2 minutes.
  6. Use tongs and a spatula to turn the funnel cake and fry for about another minute.
  7. Drain the funnel cake on a paper towel-lined plate and sprinkle with confectioner sugar.
  8. Repeat until all the batter is gone.
  9. Serve the funnel cakes while warm. You can top it with more confectioner sugar, strawberries, ice cream, and/or chocolate syrup. Enjoy!
