Hometown Hero of the Week: Cameron Jernigan, June 5th, 2024

Hometown Hero of the Week: Cameron Jernigan, June 5th, 2024

Our QDR Hometown Hero of the Week is Cameron Jernigan, Volunteer Fire Fighter / Wayne County 911 Dispatcher.

Cameron was nominated by Kelly Parks who says, “Cameron had a passion for the fire service at the age of 5. He started in the Juniors program with Dudley Fire Department at the age of 13. During this time, he received Junior Firefighter of the Year several years back to back along with several training awards. After graduating from high school, he continued his education at Wilson Fire Academy. Cameron completed a Fast Track program before entering Wilson Fire Academy to get his Green numbers. While continuing his education, he still served his community by earning his full membership at Dudley Fire Department. Since graduation, Cameron continues to serve as an active firefighter, holding a Lieutenant position and works full-time with Wayne County 911. Cameron is working on his 3rd year with dispatch. Cameron will turn 24 this year and has achieved so much. He is dedicated to the fire service and helping his community.”

Thank you, Cameron, for your service! As a token of our appreciation, we’re sending you a $50 gift card to Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q to thank you for all you do.

Hometown Hero is brought to you by First Horizon Bank and the Carolina Mudcats.
