Gold Star Teacher of the Month: May 2024 – Michelle Pitts

Gold Star Teacher of the Month: May 2024 – Michelle Pitts

Our QDR Gold Star Teacher of the month for May is Michelle Pitts, 6th Grade Science Teacher at North Johnston Middle School.

Michelle was nominated by Tonya Sanderson who says, Michelle was my son’s 1st grade teacher and his 6th grade Science teacher.  She goes out of her way to include all the children and make sure they know she cares about them as a person but also their education. She goes above and beyond every day for her school and helps all her teammates. She is a hard worker who has the kids and staff members’ interests at heart. She doesn’t care about your background as she treats everyone with the same respect and care. She is just an all-around great person and teacher. North Johnston Middle is blessed to have her as our 6th grade Science teacher. She also helps to coach some of the teams at the school and pushes the kids to their full potential.

Mrs. Pitts received a commemorative plaque from Creative Images in Cary, a $100 from Crabtree to shop at Auntie Anne’s, and an additional $100 to shop anywhere at Crabtree, a community staple for more than 50 years! His picture will also be featured on the jumbo screen at Crabtree, just below the food court for the month of May!
