Fursday: Meet Harper from SPCA of Wake County!

Fursday: Meet Harper from SPCA of Wake County!

Harper is a survivor! This 1-year-old dog was rescued by a good Samaritan from the side of the road. She was stuck in a trash bag, and her finder quickly realized she couldn’t use her back legs. It turns out Harper is paralyzed from what looks like an old injury. It’s not clear exactly what she’s been through, but despite her difficult start to life, Harper simply could not be a happier dog! She has gotten to experience a wheelchair at SPCA Wake, and she took to it like an absolute pro. It was hard to believe how fast she started running once she had some wheels behind her! And when she gets to run, Harper’s smile takes over her whole face. Unlike most paralyzed dogs, Harper does have some potty control! She’s surprisingly good at holding her bladder. But she gets diapers sometimes at night to help her make it through to the next day. This sweet girl was lucky to have been found, and now she’s looking for a loving family to show her how rich and wonderful her life can be. Harper doesn’t seem to mind other dogs, so she would probably be fine in a household with or without dog siblings. Harper’s adoption fee is $95 which includes her spay, microchip, vaccines, and some special tools to help her get around as a paralyzed dog. Interested adopters can get more information about Harper at spcawake.org
