Our QDR Gold Star Teacher of the Month is Krista Dingess, a 3rd-grade teacher at Combs Magnet Elementary School.
Her nominator said: “I’m incredibly proud to nominate my daughter-in-law, Krista, for the Gold Star Teacher of the Month. Krista is the epitome of a dedicated educator, pouring her heart and soul into her students’ success both inside and outside the classroom walls. From the moment students walk through her door, a warm, safe and welcoming environment greets them. Krista understands that for children to learn effectively, they first need to feel valued and supported. What makes Krista truly exceptional is her holistic approach to teaching. She doesn’t just focus on curriculum and test scores; she is deeply committed to nurturing the whole child. While she works tirelessly to ensure her students succeed in the academic material, she places equal emphasis on teaching them how to be good people, kind friends, and resilient future leaders. She is not just preparing them for the next grade level – she is equipping them with the character and life skills they need to succeed far into the future. Krista is truly a “Gold Star” in every sense of the word, and I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this recognition.”
