Our QDR Hometown Hero of the Week is Candice Lanham, a member of law enforcement as the NCSBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge!
Her nominator said: “Candice started her career as a CCBI detective with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office in 2015. She completed the NCSBI academy in 2018. She was promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge for the crime scene unit in 2022 with just 4 years of service with the NCSBI. In 2024, she became one of approximately 400 people worldwide and one of approximately 40 people in NC to achieve Senior Crime Scene Analyst certification. This achievement shows her dedication to bettering herself and the NCSBI. Her willingness to better herself shows her agents that she leads by example. She still responds to crime scenes (sometimes across the state) while doing her administrative duties such as reviewing crime scene reconstruction reports. She is a member of the North Carolina Division of the International Association for Identification. She’s a member of the International Association for Identification and also a member of the subcommittee for Shooting Incident Reconstruction Standards. She’s on the board of directors and conference committee for the Association for Crime Scene Reconstruction. Candice is a valuable asset to the NCSBI and its progress in becoming a better agency. Most importantly, she’s a dedicated wife and mother of a 4-year-old little girl!”
