Our QDR Goldstar Teacher of the Month is Aimee Brown, a high school teacher at Corinth Holders High School.
Her nominator said: “Aimee currently teaches English at Corinth Holders. Prior to this year, she was an AIG specialist for one year in Johnston County and taught at South Johnston for 10 years. She was a Key Club advisor at South and is now one of the advisors at Corinth Holders. She takes these high school kids to district and national conventions and local events. She does a lot outside of school hours for her students. She recently was awarded an honorary membership in Key Club International for our district (NC.SC) the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a faculty advisor. During her acceptance, she said, “As a kid, I wanted to be the CMA female vocalist of the year, and while that didn’t pan out, I can imagine I would have felt the same way I did tonight”. She is currently getting her Master’s degree and received her National Board Certification a couple of years ago, all while raising 2 elementary school children. She uses music in a lot of her lessons that kids can relate to and take with them to use for the rest of their lives. She is passionate about her career choice of teaching these high school students.”
Thank you, Ms. Brown, for your constant support of your students! Ms. Brown will receive $100 to Kanki Steak and Sushi, $100 from the April Stephens Realty Team, and a plaque from our friends at Creative Images.
