Hometown Hero of the Week: Dr. Greg Bauer for March 4th, 2026
Our QDR Hometown Hero of the week is Dr. Greg Bauer, orthopedic surgeon at UNC Orthopedics at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
Dr. Bauer was nominated by his daughter Isabella, who says, ” My dad is honestly one of the coolest people I know. He’s an orthopedic surgeon in our small town, which basically means he fixes people’s bones and helps them get back on their feet—literally. Everyone loves him because he actually cares about his patients and remembers every single one like they’re family. At home, he’s this super loving, chill dad who somehow balances late-night calls with still showing up for all the important stuff. He’d never brag about himself, but trust me, he’s the kind of doctor every town wishes they had.“
