Our QDR Hometown Hero of the week for 1-21-25 is Josh Williams, full-time firefighter at Dunn Emergency, part-time at Meadow Fire Department, and a volunteer firefighter at Autryville Fire Department.
Josh was nominated by his wife Brittany, who says, “Josh has been a dedicated member of the fire service since he was a teenager. He began volunteering at a young age and it eventually led to his career in the fire service. He has assisted multiple agencies with his primary being Dunn Emergency Services and his part time on his days off assisting at Meadow Fire Department. He continues to serve with unwavering commitment. Over the years, he has worked with and assisted multiple agencies, always stepping up to help wherever and whenever he is needed. His passion for helping others and his pride in the job are evident every single day. He consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty, even spending more time serving his community than he can at home. While his dedication sometimes means time away from his family, his daughter and I take comfort in knowing that he is out there making a difference and protecting others. Throughout his career, Josh has faced numerous difficult and emotionally challenging calls—the kind that leaves lasting impacts. Yet, no matter how hard the previous day was, he continues to show up, ready to serve again. His resilience, selflessness, and devotion to the fire service embody what it truly means to be a firefighter. Josh’s work ethic, compassion, and courage make him an outstanding candidate to be recognized for his contributions to the fire service and to his community. We are proud of him and his daughter witnesses firsthand every day what a true hero looks like.”
Thank you, Josh, for your service! As a token of our appreciation, we’re sending you a $50 gift card to Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q to thank you for all you do.
