Our QDR Hometown Hero of the Week is Carson Vuncannon, serving the community as a firefighter for Blackriver and Summerville-Bunnlevel Fire Departments. 

Carson was nominated by Abbey who says, “Working 24-hour shifts are hard for anyone, but working a 24 then going to your part time job to work a 10-hour shift at a different fire department is next level dedication. From working with a fire department full-time then part-time, while also being a volunteer, shows so much love for his community. Carson has been in fire service for over seven years. Carson is selfless and will do almost anything for anyone. He deserves it all.” QDR recently found out that Carson is taking on a new first responder job, leaving fire service behind full-time but remaining as a volunteer, and he will now be working as a police officer for Capital Police in Raleigh! Congrats on all your success!
