Congrats to Mrs. Kay Crickmore at Edward Best Elementary School in Louisburg, our Gold Star Teacher of the Month for June!

Kay was nominated by Erin Pittman whose daughter is a student of Mrs. Crickmore’s. Erin says, “Mrs. Crickmore is amazing! From the moment we met her 3 years ago she stole our hearts. I have a 12-year-old daughter with Autism and Mrs. Crickmore started as her second grade teacher. After interacting and bonding with our daughter, she stepped down from teaching secnd grade and took a position in the Special Needs class. Taking this position has allowed her to follow our daughter until the end of her fifth grade year. For autistic children, consistency is key, and this move has made the world of difference for our daughter. She is thriving every day. Mrs. Crickmore has so much patience and love for my daughter and all her students. She gets to know them so well and really connects with them all. It’s known that when my daughter is at school, Mrs. Crickmore is her school Mom. It makes her day every single time she gets to spend time with her. Our hearts are truly touched and forever grateful for the teacher that Mrs. Crickmore is. There will never be a way to completely show her how much we appreciate her, but this would be a great start!”
