Congratulations to Deb Sharp, an EMT for Johnston County EMS. She was nominated and selected to win a brand new Carrier Heating and Air unit to be installed by our friends at Newcomb and Company.
We dedicated the month of September to our first responders and asked you to nominate a hometown heroe you felt has gone above and beyond and was in need of a new HVAC unit.
We were overwhelmed with nominations and wish we could have picked more than one winner. When it was all said and done, Deb Sharp was chosen as the winner. She been working as an EMT for Johnston County EMS for 10 years. She currently takes care of her 96-year-old mother and they’re current unit is on it’s last leg. With the colder months upon us, the timing couldn’t be more perfect for Deb and her mom.
Here is what those who nominated Deb had to say about her:
“Deb is the most compassionate, strong, hard-working, dedicated woman I know. She works for the Johnston County EMS. She never misses work, and goes in early in the morning to work 24-hour shifts, with the heart and attitude to help people regardless of what situation she is put in. Their care and concern is always her top priority.’
‘Deb is one of the most selfless people I know. Always helping and doing for others. Her gift of serving with the JOCO EMS has been a blessing to many. Deb and her mom (96-yrs-young) are a team! They live together and Deb makes certain her needs and care are done with love! Such a person deserves this and so much more! Deb is truly a special first responder, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend!‘
“Deb is an extremely hard worker. She is the most selfless human being on this planet. She 100 % deserves this prize. For once to let someone help her in a time of need.“
“She is everyone’s biggest cheerleader, best hugging sideline person. I say sideline because she NEVER does anything for herself, if she had her last dollar, she would give it away before she would ever spend it on herself. She has held the hand, wiped the tears, rushed your loved ones to the hospital when they needed it most. She is TRULY deserving of this amazing gift, as I’m sure there is plenty of others who are as well.“
