Congrats to Mrs. Amy Naab of Sanford Creek Elementary, our Gold Star Teacher of the Month for April!
Amy was nominated by Shannon Wilcox who said:
Mrs. Naab teaches my daughter’s 3rd-grade virtual academy and when I hear her teaching it melts my heart to hear how much passion and excitement she brings into teaching. Trying to teach virtually and a group of 3rd graders to me seems impossible but it’s how she presents herself and the assignments to the students keep them learning yet entertained and that to me is amazing. My daughter says she is the most amazing, best, awesome kind, and funny teacher she has ever had which is true I always hear Mrs. Naab laughing and having fun with her students. I also asked my daughter “what is one special thing you like about Mrs. Naab” and she said “she is always there for me when I need help” and that brought tears to my eyes knowing my daughter feels that no matter what type of problem she is having in class she can always go to her teacher. Mrs. Naab also sets aside 1 hour at the end of her day and stays live online for any of her students to log back in and ask for help on anything which is so amazing for her to stay online for an hour even if no one shows up she will stay on there just in case. Mrs. Naab also is always, always organized, prepared and her communication skills are impeccable. I have yet to come across a teacher that has been so informative for the parents on a weekly basis as to what will be going on that week of learning. Along with attaching screenshots of notes taken in class to help parents understand what she is teaching her students. Mrs. Naab is amazing at encouraging kids to read and do math with an app that they all have downloaded and get little avatars and such which my daughter loves. Mrs. Naab is and will always be a hero in my eye for the dedication and passion she gives to her students daily. My daughter thinks the world of her, and I know many other students feel the same.
