Our Hometown Hero of the week is Captain Richard Haynes, a police officer in Rolesville, NC.
Richard was nominated by Melanie who said: I would like to nominate my husband Richard Haynes because he has been a hardworking, dedicated Police Officer for over 21 years (& Shift Commander for over 10 years). He is a Captain who is very passionate about helping his community! I could list off his accomplishments like a resume. He just graduated (with straight A’s) NC State’s AOMP (Administrative Officers Management Program), Specialized Firearms Instructor, Public Safety Officer Year (2011), Field Training Officer, Certified in First Line / Firefighter I/II, EMT-Basic, and has his Advanced Law Certificate as well; however, that isn’t why I am nominating him… (although I am Extremely Proud of his accomplishments!!) Richard goes above and beyond OFF duty as well! Whether it is stopping to help someone change a tire, volunteering his time to assist other agencies in need, or helping our 12-year-old daughter with her virtual school work after working a 12-hour shift .. he is always a smiling, positive light in my life & the lives of others and I am so blessed to call him my hero. I really appreciate all that you (QDR) do to support ALL of our local heroes .. it is a tough time right now for all of these professionals & anything to shine a positive light on their hard work and dedication is MUCH appreciated!
Thank you, Richard, for your service! We’re sending you a gift card to Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q to thank you for all you do!
