Congrats to Beverly Kisner of Polenta Elementary the QDR Gold Star Teacher of the month for January!
Beverly was nominated by Amber who shared:
“Mrs. Kisner has had two of my kids for kindergarten. The first was 2 years ago and we were just amazed at how well she did with her. She entered school not being able to read or know all of her letters and was far behind. Today she loves to read and loves school because of Mrs. Kisner.
My littlest one had her last year and we knew there was something just not right with how she was progressing before she entered school so we were so happy to see that she also had gotten Mrs. Kisner. But our situation was different with this child and I was blown away with how much she honestly cared about my child. She got her into speech therapy within the first quarter of school, got her extra help everyday 1on1 with a TA to help her and her not to have to go to a special class and she got her on an IEP plan that she needed. Without Mrs.Kisner I honestly think my child would still be struggling and hate school. I think that it would have taken other teachers a lot longer to help in the process of getting help.
I believe with my whole heart that Mrs. Kisner has impacted two of my three children lives in a way that no one else will. She gave them a solid base in school and instilled a joy in learning in both of them. My children are so much better off because of her. I can’t thank her enough for truly caring about the kids that she teaches. She is definitely more than just a teacher! She deserves to be recognized for everything she does for everyone!”
